This is what I would call a “sleeper” product segment. It’s not as well known or understood by the consumer as is say kitchen appliances, or televisions screens, or bicycles. Which is a shame actually. Many of the aluminum furniture that I have seen and worked with surpass the beauty and durability of what one would find in someone’s home.

I once worked with a colleague in Australia years ago. As a side business, his family invested in some tooling and made their own cast iron foot stools. It was a cute and simple product, and while they didn’t become rich in making the stools, they had a nice tight little operation. They were able to earn a little bit of extra spending money, and they were able to teach their children the basics of manufacturing and business. It was a win-win all around.

Almost all outdoor furniture today is cast aluminum. It is rare to see shaped or formed aluminum sheet, or cast iron or steel. You almost never see cast zinc furniture. And while bronze or brass furniture is possible, it is mostly specialized products for the marine environment.

You can see wicker from time to time, and other wood based products (we have factories that do this) most our our outdoor furniture is processed cast aluminum. Anyways, that is what we are going to talk about here, don’t you know.

Aluminum Outdoor Sofas

These products are simply sofas that are designed to sit outside. They are designed to be beautiful, and comfortable and designed to last for many, many years. They can handle rain, snow, sleet, and other types of weather to include hot searing desert heat, and fog saturated New England mornings.

Aluminum Outdoor Chairs & Sectionals

We, of course, are involved in the manufacture of chairs and sectionals (also known as sectional sofas). These products are very similar to that of outdoor aluminum sofas and couches. From a production point of view, they are pretty much identical that that of their larger cousins’ the outdoor aluminum all-weather sofa.

Aluminum Patio Dining Chairs

These are pretty simple products. They pretty much resemble their interior cousins, the wood home furniture dining chairs. Only these products are made to withstand weather and climate extremes. They are durable, with is something that most wood (aside from teak) is not. Most are cast aluminum frames with an array of interesting finishes and cushions in an array of colors and designs.

Aluminum Outdoor Coffee & Side Tables

These are simply low tables made out of metal frames. Often, but not always, the frames are made out of cast aluminum, that is treated and anodized with some kind of attractive finish. The tops of the tables can be anything from a metal surface (of some type) to stone, wood, ceramic tiles, or anything else you can think of, like glass. These are just great to use and are almost always part of an outdoor patio set.

Aluminum Outdoor Dining Tables

The idea that you do not need to buy a dining set (tables with chairs) has been around for a long time. The advantage in just selling the dining tables is that the consumer can pick what ever types of chairs that they desire, or maybe none at all. In fact, I know a fella who has a dining table that he put in the shallow end of his pool. It serves as a kind of “wet bar” for when he has guests over. Strange? Maybe. But, it works for him, and that is all that matters. Right?

Dining sets made for the outdoors out of aluminum is the “bread and butter” for most of our factories. This is where most of their products originate from. Typically a client will specify some kind of sketch or print, and the factory will make an entire range of products to fit that particular style. Of course, if you want to have your own special design, you must pay for the tooling and you own it. If you are a small operation, we can work out deals or arrangements to reduce or mitigate the costs associated with the new designs of outdoor furniture. All you need to do is ask.

Aluminum Outdoor Chaise Lounges

Chaise Lounges are a rather mature product that has become very popular all over the world. In America they started to come into use around the 1950’s and they really hit their stride during the 1960’s. At that time the aluminum chaise lounges were of simple construction. They were mostly formed aluminum pipe or tubes with formed aluminum sheet. But times do change. Today the aluminum outdoor chaise lounges are well made, substantive and long lasting. They are beautiful.

Aluminum Outdoor Bistro Sets

A bistro set is a set of one tiny (usually circular) table, often just large enough for a cup of coffee and a croissant, and two chairs. Typically the chairs have a high back so that they are easy to move around. Over the years there have been so many variations of this that they are often unrecognizable from a dining set, or singular chairs. This is an interesting product line and has a higher proportion of sales than what you would normally expect. Naturally, all the products are well made, and great care is taken to assure that the products are available and meet our customers expectations.

Aluminum Outdoor Benches

This category is unique is that many people buy it that might not have a porch or a patio. These items are typically used as decorative pieces in a yard or garden. From a manufacturing point of view they are just as easy to make as any kind of table or chair. What is the primary distinguishing criteria from a retailer point of view is the uniqueness of the design and whether or not it’s appearance will fit the expectations of the customer.
