From the looks of things, the line between fiction and reality will become ever blurrier. AI's dictating what we see, what we hear, and soon enough, what we think and feel (Elon Musk's Neuralink).
In my eyes, I think The Borg is becoming a reality. We are developing the wherewithal to create a worldwide hivemind/matrix soul through all of this AI and tech. Everything will be monitored, controlled, artificial, impossible to discern between what's real and what's not.
Makes you think whether the guys behind Star Trek were divining the future instead of crafting a Sci-Fi series.
