Generation Jones – The Party Was Over Before We Got There

So, I am single and I don’t really have too many restrictions on the women that I date. Today, I met a woman from Michigan, my home state, here in Thailand.

Before we could go on a date she sent me text messages with these questions:

  • How do you feel about the genocide in Gaza?
  • What is your stance on Donald Trump?
  • What do you think of the Jeffrey Epstein files?
  • Do you find it outrageous that 80,000 Palestinians have been killed?
  • What is your political affiliation?

Meanwhile, I went on several dates with a Thai woman and she only asked me what beer we should order at a restaurant and suggested places I should visit in the countryside.

When we went back to my hotel, she cleaned the room before she left.

I didn’t ask for this, but she did it anyway.

Yesterday, I woke up, and although I hadn’t seen her in a while, I found that I’d received a package from her that she mailed all the way to Phuket with Thai snacks inside.

She mailed that stuff to me just because she thought it might make me happy and without any expectation of anything in return.

She was right, it made me happy.

Baby Boomers Blame Us For A World THEY Ruined

There’s a photo from 1936 showing Hitler walking alongside young Helga Goebbels, and it’s become one of the most haunting images connected to him, not for what it shows in the moment, but for what we know happened to her less than a decade later.

Hitler reportedly had genuine fondness for the Goebbels children, and Helga in particular was said to be something of a favorite of his. But that closeness didn’t protect her from the horror that would ultimately be inflicted on her by her own parents in the war’s final days.

As the Nazi regime collapsed in the spring of 1945, Magda Goebbels became convinced that she and her children needed to die alongside the collapse of the ideology she’d devoted herself to. Despite offers made to help get the children to safety, she refused all of them.

Her plan was to sedate her children with morphine first, and once they were unconscious, administer cyanide by crushing capsules between their teeth. On April 30, 1945, just one day after Hitler’s own suicide, Magda carried this plan out with help from an SS doctor. A few hours after her children’s deaths, she and her husband Joseph Goebbels took their own lives as well.

What makes Helga’s death especially disturbing is that, according to later evidence, the morphine either didn’t fully sedate her or wore off too quickly. At some point, she apparently became aware of what was happening to her siblings and, understandably, resisted having the same thing done to her.

An autopsy conducted after Soviet forces took the bunker, along with photographic evidence, later revealed significant bruising on her body and a broken jaw, physical evidence consistent with a real struggle, suggesting she fought against being forced to swallow the cyanide in her final moments, rather than the peaceful death her mother had intended to carry out.

Costco, Walmart & Target Are Making BIG Changes… And It’s Not a Good Sign

In 2005, a 35 year old man named Robert Darmer decided to take a solo trip to a clothing optional resort located deep inside Death Valley. But unfortunately, Robert took a wrong turn and his Volkswagen camper van got stuck in a dry salt lake bed.

Representational image

With no way to call for help and no one in sight, Robert decided to wait near the van. For days no one came and his water supply began running low. Fortunately for Robert, a group of British hikers who were practicing search and rescue in the same area spotted him, pulled him to safety and drove him 80 miles to the nearest ranger station.

In most cases this should have been the end of story, but for Robert, it wasn’t. A few days after recovering, Robert decided he could fix his van and get it out himself.

So he took a lift from a couple who dropped him off what he believed was half a mile away from the resort where he originally intended to go. His plan was to cover the last stretch on foot and then get help from someone at the resort to retrieve his van.

However, Robert had miscalculated once again. He had actually been dropped off 15 miles away from the resort. With no signal in the area, Robert was stranded for a second time in a matter of days. This time no one was able to save him and his body was found a few days later.

The desert gave Robert a chance to live, but the second time it wasn’t so generous.

Ingredients for Rustic Italian Crusty Bread

Here’s what you’ll need to make this delicious Rustic Italian Crusty Bread:

3.25 cups all-purpose flour – A versatile and essential ingredient, choose unbleached flour for the best flavor and texture.

1 tsp sea salt – Enhances the bread’s flavor, ensuring you get that delightful savory kick with every bite.

1.5 cups warm water – Important for activating yeast; make sure it’s warm, but not too hot, to keep the yeast alive.

2 tsp instant yeast – This magical ingredient helps your dough rise quickly and easily, giving you that fluffy interior.

How to Make Rustic Italian Crusty Bread

Follow these simple steps to prepare this delicious Rustic Italian Crusty Bread:

Step 1: Combine Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, add the all-purpose flour, sea salt, and instant yeast. Whisk it all together until it resembles a sandy beach, free of lumps and full of potential.

Step 2: Mix in the Water
Pour in the warm water and embrace your inner hand-mixer. Use a spatula or your trusty wooden spoon to blend until it forms a shaggy, sticky dough. Don’t worry about getting it too neat; rustic is part of the charm!

Step 3: Let It Rise
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and a clean tea towel. Set your dough aside at room temperature for 2 to 3 hours. It should double in size, puffing up like a little doughy balloon, ready for its moment in the oven!

Step 4: Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, lightly flour your counter and carefully dump the dough onto it. Flour your hands to prevent sticking and gently fold the dough onto itself several times, forming a sloppy ball. It doesn’t need to be perfect; perfection isn’t rustic!

Step 5: Score the Dough
Using a sharp knife, make a few shallow cuts on top of the loaf. This is both practical and decorative; it allows the dough to expand beautifully while baking.

Step 6: Preheat the Oven
While your dough rests on a floured pizza peel or parchment paper, preheat your oven to 450°F (about 232°C) with a pizza stone inside for about 45 minutes. For a steamy environment (which crusts love), place an oven-proof bowl filled with water on the bottom rack.

Step 7: Bake to Perfection
When your oven is ready to go, sprinkle some semolina flour or cornmeal on the baking surface. Carefully slide your loaf onto the hot pizza stone and bake for about 30 to 45 minutes. You’re looking for a golden-brown crust that’ll tempt even the most skeptical bread-hater.

Step 8: Cooling Time
Remove the bread from the oven and transfer it to a cooling rack. Allow it to cool completely before slicing—if you can resist the urge to take a sneaky slice while it’s still hot. Serve it up as an accompaniment to your favorite dish or simply enjoy it warm with some butter.

Now, how easy was that? You’ve made your very own Rustic Italian Crusty Bread right from scratch! You can relish it fresh out of the oven or use it in numerous recipes, be it for sandwiches or simply for some good old-fashioned toast with jam. Enjoy every bite and celebrate your newfound baking prowess!

15 Chinese School Lunch Features That Would Shut Down American Cafeterias

This is really good. I think that it says ALOT. I watched it three times!

The USA is in BIG Trouble

Back when I lived in Ft. Myers, I had a friend who drove a 1969 Alfa Romeo Spider.

(Not this one, but one just like it.)

When he went out at night, women would ask him if they could sit in it. My girlfriend at the time was one of them.

Other than an exotic supercar, few modern cars have that effect. This car got attention and turned heads.

It wasn’t mechanically that great; I think people in their twenties and thirties today who’ve never driven a car from the 60s or 70s don’t fully grasp how primitive they were or how much automotive technology changed since then.

But cars today have no style. They’ve converged on the same bland, boring shapes. You can argue they’ve converged on the most aerodynamic shape, but I don’t think that’s entirely true; I think car makers, once they became Wall Street entities or got bought out by private equity firms, quit wanting to spend money on symbolists and designers. If you pay a stylist $100,000 a year, that’s $100,000 that can’t go into the pocket of the CEO of Stellantis NV, the Netherlands corporation that owns the Chrysler brand.

Modern cars and SUVs pretty much look the same except for the front grille, which is the last place automotive engineers are allowed to do anything interesting, thus giving us occasional catastrophic design fails like this ugly-ass Lexus monstrosity:

The head of what passes for the Lexus design team, Kevin Hunter, said in an interview:

[The grille] is our brand identity, it’s our aim to make it attractive of course, and the LF-1 is the next step in its evolution. We call it ‘architectural spindle’.

“You notice as the perimeter shape transitions up, it turns into into a pretty distinctive hood shape that has a channel, that runs all the way though the belt-line, and even the DRL runs the perimeter of the hood shape. Everything is integrated into one architectural piece.”

This is not someone who could ever design an Alfa Romeo Spider or a Karmann Ghia or a 67 Corvette. The grille design is the company’s entire brand? Wow.

In the morning, Talei signs, Are you okay? I tell her I’m fine. She accepts that and doesn’t bring it up again, for which I’m eternally thankful. No need to discuss my middle-of-the-night screaming fit that woke up half the village. It’s wet out and a storm hangs over the mountain in a ragged shawl. There’s a dead mongoose in the center of the rara. A couple of kids poke at it with a stick. I find red soil under my fingernails. My chest is sore from crying. But I’m alive. Fully present.Talei’s mom left boiled cassava with coconut milk for us on the porch. It’s insanely good; I’d put it up against any Michelin Star custard. Talei gets some on her shirt. The way her eyes shift from sleepy to amused makes me ache in my bones. I wish I could hear the reggae she’s playing on the stereo. We tried dancing once and only succeeded in bumping elbows.Let me make you something for your birthday. The afternoon belongs to the kitchen. Roasted breadfruit seasoned with vanilla salt. But it’s insufficient. I want to make her something she’ll never forget. I need to go to the market, I tell her. She says she’s going too and starts changing out of her shirt in front of me. I’m overcome by a tropical heat that would put the bongo chilli pepper to shame. The women here are all super religious, but Talei is not — much to her mother’s chagrin. She works with the Fiji Women’s Crisis Center. Sees me as safe. Which I take to be a compliment. In the car, she squeezes my hand to let me know we’ve arrived. Caught me drifting away with the pastels of the local architecture, its iconography blended with advertisement. I was always a visual person. Now I have to be. The market is bustling and her palm is sweaty but I’d be helpless without her among the blankets of pineapple and coconut and ginger. I’m not a fan of how the fishmonger’s gaze lingers over her body. After we purchase two of his freshest tavioka, when Talei’s not looking, I give him the finger. Based on his smug expression, it’s universally understood.Do you have any green mangos in your yard? I sign at Talei. But she’s not getting the word green from my G-shape and wrist flick. It doesn’t matter; limes will do. I’m fussing over the pile when I catch a whiff of something familiar. Smoky, expensive. Creed Aventus cologne. Prefered scent of William Jackson-Bloom. I peer around until I find him and his entourage by a handicraft stall. My heart sinks into my toes. He’s wearing a linen shirt and a panama hat because of course he is. Talking so hard at a cameraman that his jugular stands out on his sunburned neck.

Out of the corner of his eye, he spots me. It’s a rivet popping loose from a hull. A storm cloud turning a darker shade of gray. I can read his lips but wish I couldn’t — Nick? Oh my God. You’re alive! He marches up to me and grabs me by the shoulders, rips me out of Talei’s grasp into a hug that crushes my ribs. More words echo in his chest. I peel away and point at my ears.

“Burst from the pressure,” I say out loud. The words scorch the roof of my mouth.

His face is ashen. A master of performative empathy. Reptilian hazel eyes slide in the direction of my girlfriend. “I’m William. Nick’s old boss. Afraid I didn’t catch your name, Miss…?”

She introduces herself and says of course she knows who he is. Not because I told her anything; he’s just that famous. I might throw up on his loafers.

“I owe my life to your man here. I’m sure he told you all about it.” Before she can answer he has his guy stick a camera in our faces. Sidles up like a game show host presenting the winning couple. The rapid-fire exchange between him and his crew is too quick for me to read, but if experience is any indicator, he’s seizing control. Delegating before anyone can object. I can tell by the flush of Talei’s cheeks — he’s disarmed her with a compliment. Co-opted her birthday dinner for a joint celebration of life.

“We’ll think about it, okay?” I say in what I hope is a flat tone. I take Talei by the arm and start to extract her, but she battles me. I don’t make a habit of forcing her to do things. Her sign nearly capsizes me entirely.

Don’t be rude.

*

It starts with flickering red lights. Deep groans of straining metal. The clank of the containment chamber door. My oxygen tank, the last one onboard that’s still functional. The sheer animal panic on William’s face, all his wealth and assets and achievements made meaningless with a single wave of his hand, a simple miscalculation. That’s all. Just a little more than she could handle. He did buy it used. Should’ve sprung for a new one.

When I tell him to take the tank, it isn’t gratitude that fills his eyes — it’s resentment. Nevermind that I warned him about using up his O2 while scuba diving. Nevermind that he took the sub into the trench despite my repeated objections. Now I get to die a hero’s death, and he’ll be forced to feign appreciation over it. Forever. How dare I saddle him with such an albatross of feelings.

He stands in the chamber and the mouth-read is unmistakable: “No fucking DUH, pal.”

Then his trail of bubbles dissipates into the dark. A loud bang as the sub rolls. Pressure that builds and builds and builds — unimaginable pulverizing weight — until it spikes and shoves two agonizing blades into both sides of my skull.

That’s usually when I start to scream.

*

The intimate dinner I’d planned is now an Americanized magiti spectacle. Instead of Talei’s dining room, William somehow wrangled the chief into letting us use the vale levu communal house, with me slaving away in the back. Probably by offering several pallets of kava instead of the usual single bag.

His crew strung up fairy lights and lit overpriced candles. Set out table cloths and chairs. Replaced the traditional bamboo platters with plates and flatware. Invited the whole village. Two fish has turned into twenty. One bottle of rum is now four cases. This is what he does. Scales everything up and ignores the sweat, blood, and tears it costs to meet the demand.

Somehow, I make it work. While the tavioka cubes are curing in ceramic bowls of lime juice, I dice the onions, cucumber, and cherry tomatoes like a machine. I get a village kid to fetch some pawpaws from the grove to julienne for a tart counterpoint to the coconut cream. The finishing touch is grated ginger from Talei’s mom’s garden, fresher than anything available at the market.

While the chief leads everyone in prayer, Talei steals a glance at me and smirks. This looks beautiful.

Almost as beautiful as you. Happy Birthday.

Her smile loses a few watts when she recognizes my distress. She squeezes at me and I do my best to reassure her, but all I can smell is that fucking Creed Aventus. All I can see is William’s sterile grin of veneers as he lights up the chief with another bullshit anecdote. Once everyone’s had their kava and their plates are full and waiting, he gets to his feet.

“Allow me to take a moment to express my deepest heartfelt thanks to this community. Not only for welcoming me and my crew with open arms, but for taking such excellent care of Nick, our brilliant chef.

“As many of you may know, seven months ago Nick and I chartered a submarine to the depths of the Somosomo Strait. When we reached the Great White Wall, he warned me that going into the trench would be dangerous, but of course I didn’t listen. I ended up running us into a cliff, and the sub suffered a catastrophic leak.”

William presses his lips together firmly. Nods as if admonishing his past self. I have to bite back a scoff of laughter at the pair of crocodile tears creasing his crow’s feet.

“I was a victim of my own hubris. But Nick insisted I take the last oxygen tank and swim to the surface, leaving him alone on a sinking vessel. At a depth I believed at the time would be fatal.”

Every eyeball on the room lands on me. Not the first time I’ve considered my deafness a blessing. I let them watch me enjoy the kokoda as if blissfully unaware.

“Every second since that terrible moment, I’ve given my thanks to God for sparing me. To Nick for his selfless sacrifice, for which I am truly not worthy.”

That part’s true, I flash at Talei. She furrows her brow.

“That’s why we came here. To launch a reef restoration project in Nick’s honor. Imagine my surprise — my utter astonishment — to find him still alive in Nadi market! When I tell you my heart just about fell out of my chest…! God works in mysterious ways, doesn’t he?”

When William’s gaze falls on me, he lets the mask slip. Just a fraction. Just enough for me to glimpse what lies underneath, his lip curling into a subtle sneer. Then it’s gone. He raises his glass.

“In our culture, we say cheers. So here’s to Nick Andrews, my savior. And his lovely better half on her special day.”

The village raises their glasses to say it with him. Their unified voices vibrate in my teeth. “Cheers!”

My chair scrapes the concrete floor as I eject out of it and run for the safety of the kitchen.

*

I don’t understand why you’re so upset.

He’s not what you think. Trust me.

There’s a tennis match underway in Talei’s mind. Seeing it makes me angry. Makes me want to stick my head in the lovo earth oven. Why didn’t you tell me that’s what happened?

I shake my head. Because when I met you, you accepted me as I am. Not as the projection.

It takes her a moment to piece together the word for projection, but when it lands, I think she might cry. Your past is part of you. It’s what made you the amazing man you are today.

I shake my head again. Turn away from her. Emotions suspended in silence seem bigger somehow, more dramatic. I feel her soft touch at my shoulder but I can’t let her in. Not all the way. If I do, my knees will buckle and I’ll start to howl and I’ll probably never stop. Won’t even know the volume.

Nick…She doesn’t sign it. I feel her speak directly through my back. Still, I’m cold. At the bottom of the ocean. So he’s a liar. You’re not, and you don’t have to be. She forces me to turn and look at her, but for some reason I can’t. I stare at her hands. Her elegant fingers. I know a bribe when I see one. Wasn’t born yesterday. That makes me chuckle because I taught her that phrase. But then– Does it matter so much? It’s still a good thing to help the reef. “And he’s donating a huge amount to the crisis center. That’s more important than us.”

I know what she means. And she’s probably right. So why am I seeing someone totally different in front of me. As though all her folksy wisdom and humble Viti Levu charm is just…lack of exposure to the world at large. More important than us?

That’s not what I’m— I grab her hands to stop her signing. Can’t take anymore. She makes sure I can read her lips. “Come back to dinner. Nana brought her granita for dessert.”

I pull her in for a kiss. There’s something wrong with it. No electricity. No oxygen left. Our faces pull apart and I can tell she felt it, too. A gap.

I try to hold her there. Keep her with me until we cross the divide. Until we float to the surface. But she’s pulling away, lured by sounds I’ll never again get to experience: laughter, music, the tinkle of ice cubes. People enjoying my cooking. Someone calls her name. The chief, her mother, William. It doesn’t matter.

I let her go.

*

The night is a damp cloth. Even the flames of the tiki torches look wet. No one saw me go out the back door.

There’s no one in Talei’s house, or in my bure in the backyard. Packing takes no time at all because I only have a few outfits, some camping gear, and one dog-eared Fijian field guide. In Talei’s shed is a beat-to-hell scooter that takes a dozen kicks to get started. I leave a few hundred dollars on the shelf.

Halfway around the cassava fields, I get spotted by William’s personal bodyguard. He says something into his radio. I gun it for Nausori Highlands Road, spraying red mud from the back tire. Operating entirely by feel, by the grace of the scooter’s one dingy headlight. Riverland breaks into urban decay street corners and low-rise apartments. The jungle presses in with palm fronds that beat at my legs until the road bleeds into a winding mountain pass full of potholes, only partially paved. Then the panorama of the Koromba Mountains.

On a ridge overlooking the Pacific, the scooter runs out of gas. I dump it, curse myself for forgetting such a crucial detail. Should’ve brought a fuel can. Within minutes, a pair of ATV headlights blaze around the corner. William and his bodyguard.

He hops out with a face redder than volcanic soil. Shouts things at me I can’t understand. I point at my ears again to remind his dumb ass. He grabs a notebook out of his leather satchel and scribbles furiously. Holds it up for me to see. WTF?

All I offer is a shrug.

He writes again, You really hate me that much?

That one gets no response at all, at first. His bodyguard wears shades at night like an idiot. Image over utility, always. I sign at William, It’s not all about you.

His turn to shrug. “I don’t know ASL.”

I nod at him. Click on my headlamp and shine the beam in his eyes. Make him squint.

“No fucking DUH, pal.”

I cross the road and disappear into the jungle.

I’m a logger in the Black Hills, and I’ve come across many of the first cabins. Others’ answers are correct as to the difficulty of lifting large, long logs into place, and the difficulty of constructing a roof with a large span. However, frontier cabins were usually not built the way people imagine, with coped logs or round logs stacked one atop another, as is Old Faithful Lodge in Yellowstone. Neither of these are as stable or well-insulated as shaping the logs into squares or rectangles, then stacking them. They used a tool called an adze to shape the logs, which eliminated the need to peel them, and allowed them to dry a lot faster and become easier to lift into place. Structurally, you can build larger structures with these logs because of the stability you get with flat-on-flat construction. However, other writers are correct in pointing out the reason for the relatively small structures was practical economics: it was more important to build barns, workshops, grain storage, and so on, than to build a larger home. There was also a cultural difference: back in those days, the settlers were more motivated to build nice schools and churches than nicer homes. I’ve included photos of some of the pioneer log homes I’ve come across in the Black Hills.

Zalmen Gradowski

(he and his wife)

He was in Auschwitz and worked in the gas chambers. He shaved heads, removed their jewelry, and made sure the corpses were put into the ovens.

He also kept a diary. Anne Frank’s diary became famous and a classic. His remained unnoticed. The only copy I could find was a PDF. It’s called “The Literature of Annihilation – Zalmen Gradowski.” He was also part of the resistance or the underground. He died during a revolt.

His Wikipedia entry is short and practically devoid of content. The diary contains the names of his mother (Sarah), his sister (Libe), his sister (Esther Rokhl), his wife (Sonia), his father, and his brother-in-law (Raphael and Wolf). All these names referred to his family, and they were gassed for “unfitness.” His father, two brothers, and another sister were taken away, though he didn’t know what happened to them. He wrote about them all in the introduction to his diary. The preface is a tribute to his family and his last wish that they not be forgotten.

How did his bravery in keeping this diary safe from the Nazis fall into oblivion?

Before he died, he buried the book so that it could be found later when the camp was liberated.

A few quotes –

“I am only sharing with you a small part of what happened in the hell of Birkenau-Auschwitz. It is up to you to grasp the reality. I have written much more. I am sure that you will come across these remnants and be able to form an idea of how our people were murdered.” – Zalmen Gradowski

“In this way, I hope to immortalize the dear, beloved names of those for whom I cannot even shed a tear at this moment! For I live in an inferno of death where it is impossible to fathom my great losses.” – Zalmen Gradowski

Louis Vuitton won. But Chinese netizens now call it a “toilet bag.”

LVMH’s trademark verdict against Molly Tea

On Jul 2, 2026, the Suzhou Intermediate People’s Court ruled that Molly Tea (茉莉奶白), a Shenzhen-based tea chain with roughly 2,500 stores, infringed seven of Louis Vuitton’s quatrefoil graphic trademarks.

The court ordered Molly Tea to pay RMB 10.3 million ($1.5 million), stop using the motif, and publish remediation statements across six platforms. Molly Tea’s founder, Zhang Bocheng, appealed. Overnight, the brand swapped its black logo for a colored variant.

Legally, the case was clean. LV’s quatrefoil marks were registered in China as early as the 1980s. Molly Tea had actually tried to register its own four-petal flower mark in 2024 — and was rejected by China’s IP office. The brand rolled out the design anyway. The court found willful infringement.

LV’s quatrefoil motif vs Molly Tea’s logo

LV won.

However, within 48 hours, a Weibo hashtag started trending: “LV你身后空无一人”“LV, there is no one standing behind you.”

Very few Chinese netizens came to LV’s defense. Scroll through the comments, and you’d struggle to find a single netizen backing LV’s position.

Why nobody sided with Louis Vuitton?

Many Chinese netizens claimed that LV was effectively culturally appropriating traditional Chinese motifs.

The quatrefoil pattern has always been a cultural symbol in Chinese history. The pattern’s closest East Asian ancestor is the Baoxiang Flower (宝相花), a symmetrical four-petal motif that appears throughout Tang Dynasty art — Dunhuang murals, silk textiles, bronze mirrors, and was later adopted by the Japanese through Tang diplomatic missions.

An even earlier version: the persimmon-calyx pattern (柿蒂纹) from the Han Dynasty, pointing to the four cardinal directions and carrying the auspicious homophone shi (事, “things going as one wishes”).、

In many Chinese netizens’ eyes, the absurdity of the trademark lawsuit was brutal in its simplicity: LV was suing a Chinese brand for using an ancestral Chinese pattern

And then netizens went further. They dug up LV’s track record in other jurisdictions. In Japan, courts ruled against LV on similar motif disputes in 2021 But in China, LV walked away with a ten-million-yuan verdict.

The “toilet bag”

Other consumers simply dismissed the originality of LV’s logo as being too generic.

For instance, many netizens pointed out that the quatrefoil pattern is actually ubiquitous in traditional yuanlin (garden) architecture across southern China—and that it is ultimately just a generic motif drawn from nature.

Some netizens even posted pictures of ventilation grilles on old toilets in mainland China, which are commonly carved with four-petaled, symmetrical flowers nearly identical to the LV quatrefoil. More pictures quickly followed: vintage courtyard walls, village window vents, 1980s floor tiles, and kitchen backsplashes, until users across Xiaohongshu, Weibo, and Douyin mockingly began referring to LV tote bags as “toilet tile bags.”

Side-by-side comparisons of LV totes and restroom walls rapidly became a viral meme on Chinese social media:

Many netizens admitted they only realized the visual similarity between Molly Tea’s logo and LV’s pattern after the lawsuit went viral on the internet.

Legal wins are not PR wins. Despite winning the case, this is certainly not a good move for LV.

In my observation, Chinese consumers tend to have a short memory when it comes to standard copyright disputes, so the immediate impact on sales rarely lasts. However, LV’s signature logo—which has long served as social currency for status and a fashion icon in China—is now associated with the “toilet.” That synthetic association poses a far longer-term threat.

This is not the first time

This misstep was certainly not the first, nor was it simply a matter of Chinese consumers boycotting foreign culture.

Many other brands have stumbled across China’s cultural landscape before. The most recent example was Lululemon’s yoga festival on the Great Wall, where the brand featured a Japanese Taiko drum performance while branding it as a traditional Chinese drum display.

Prior to this, other PR crises had emerged as well. In 2024, Fendi attributed a handbag knot resembling a traditional Chinese knot to “Korean craftsmanship.” In 2022, Dior marketed a $3,800 skirt as a “hallmark Dior silhouette,” even though structurally it was a Chinese Mamianqun (马面裙) dating back to the Ming Dynasty.

Of course, this is not to say that the criticism over copyright and design originality is limited to foreign brands—domestic chains like Chagee, for instance, have been repeatedly criticized by netizens for copying Dior’s signature aesthetic.

What set the LV backlash apart was not the dispute over logo design originality: the misstep happened at a time when the rising Guochao (国潮) trend has fostered a highly discerning consumer base—one that is developing a genuine, intellectual interest in reclaiming its cultural roots rather than simply paying for a superficial “vibe” manufactured by global brands.

Some Chinese netizens even discussed on Red Note about turning to Gucci as an alternative. They dug up the history of Kering (Gucci’s parent company) executive management purchasing looted bronze zodiac heads (the rat and rabbit heads from the Old Summer Palace) and returning them to China in 2013. Whether this leads to a real lift in sales remains to be seen, but it shows that Chinese consumers care increasingly less about just the logo, looking instead at the track record and values of the management behind it.

Is this hitting LVMH’s sales?

This controversy doesn’t land in a vacuum. Luxury in China was already soft in Q2 2026, as we covered in our June Data Update.

Behind the paywall, I’ll brief you on the initial impact on LV’s sales and the consumer reaction across major social media platforms. These are data insights from our team at BigOne Lab, parent company of Baiguan.

(repost) An example of how the prayer affirmation campaigns work in a world seeming gone crazy. (duplicate)

This post talks about the world going to shit fast, and our frustrations and fears that it is beyond our control. That is not true at all. In fact, we are in control of it, it just looks like we are powerless.

Back in 2016, grassroots white Americans voted anti-establishment Trump into the Oval Office. For the first time, long-held ideals of American democracy have been challenged. Pledging to “Make America Great Again”, Trump's solution was straightforward – waging trade wars on friends and foes alike; withdrawing the country from global pacts, and avoiding responsibilities for international affairs.

The consequences have been catastrophic. Populist policies originally introduced to woo American voters were ironically implemented at the sacrifice of blue-collar workers – the same group of people who supported Trump in 2016. Establishment forces are also fed up with Trump's "madness."

The 2020 election was more a fight between Biden-represented American institutions and anti-establishment forces with Trump being the spokesperson than a partisan battle. Biden, although a Democrat, has high hopes pinned on him by establishment politicians of both parties to bring the United States back to the right track. This requires the new president to restore multilateralism, intensify cooperation with allies, and mend ties with China.

-When will U.S. anti-China hysteria come to an end?

It all began with a comment;

“…our consciousness.”

It appears that my consciousness is being overwhelmed (or over-ruled) by the 99.99% who believe that shit on “TV” or “News”.

Again:

Other than your prayers to nowhere, is there simply a method to say “I’ve had enough of this charade”? Like “Help Mr. Wizard… I don’t wanna be a peon human anymore.” Suicide, is that it? Seriously, what the fuck am I learning these days (in the “sentience nursery”) that I had not known years and years ago?

And I responded with…

In reply to DSKlausler.

I want to take more time to answering your question. Unfortunately I was busy with personal things and all I could do was throw off a quick response. But I have been thinking about you and your last few emails. I can sense a great deal of frustration and angst. And I do understand it.

Do not be under the impression that the reality that you see is ruled and controlled by the masses…the manipulated masses. That point was made very clearly by the base commander when I joined MAJestic. Most of the world is populated by sheeple. Or just folk that haven’t a clue, and who graze upon the lands in a reactive way. Only a handful of people are actually really in control. these are the cowboys, the unappreciated and the under-deserved. You never hear about them, because they are not attracted to fame and fortune.

Look at 2020. Was a fucking year, right?

During the entire year, just about every other article in the United States, mainstream Alt-Right and Alt-left was all HATE CHINA! and it was non-stop. By the end of the year, the 330 million American either totally despised China, (and wanted to go to war) or were guardedly neutral. No one put up any kind of a fight when Trump started kicking the Chinese out of America, banning things, and launched a huge flotilla to attack China.

330 million people HATING China. COVID-19B launched as part of a 8-strain biological attack, a military flotilla…

…but no war happened. Donald Trump and Mike Pompeo were kicked out of office.

The American economy is in shambles. And China is bigger and stronger than ever. Not only that, but it has grown and the world is now turning it’s back on the broken promises of Trump and look at the ruins of the United States… with incredulity and disgust.

Do you actually believe that this is the result of the combined HATRED of 330 million people? Or, maybe that a MAJestic operator that happened to live inside China had a Prayer Affirmation Campaign that said…

[1] Donald Trump will not be able to harm China.
[2] All American military ventures to China will fail.
[3] The harder that Donald Trump tries to break or destroy China, the same and equal effect will hit him and his family personally.
[4] Any WMD’s implemented by America to hurt China will boomerang to the USA a hundred-fold and more.

And yeah. It doesn’t make sense. Except it does if you read everything that I am saying.

COVID-19B deaths China = 4634
COVID-19A deaths USA = 397,600

As far as you and other MM readers. I will not allow any harm to come to you all. Not if I can help it. You all are true believers. So relish in that.

[5] Followers of MM are protected with the same kind of protections that I utilize for my family provided that it is their desire.

If the shadow people thoughts have an equal power as a single person, and there at 330,000,000 of them then it is logical to say (just what you stated) that the tyranny of the majority will define the reality that we all inhabit. After all, that is the primary theory behind propaganda. But I argue quite differently. It is the strength of the thoughts of an individual consciousness that controls the reality that maintains the power to shape and shift the reality that surrounds us.

If you do not understand, I will provide more information.

After the response above, I have received some positive responses.

First from ULTan

I get it, Mr Man. Couldnt be clearer. If folks read your Maj and MWI sections thoroughly, all these concerns are addressed.

I should add again, though, if I may and IMHO: Stop watching MMMedia whatever ya’ll do. And don’t fight the masses head on. Lie low and observe their madness. Learn from it. Is it something that’s happened to them? Or does it just reveal what they really were all along. (Quantum shadows? Existing only to teach u personally? Or is that too far out for ya?) Do not get dragged into arguments with zombified and terrified normies over masks, rules, etc. Work out a method of avoidance. They’ve been driven crazy by Wizards at the top of the pile. Their pile, that is. Avoid this at all costs. Surf that wave, look after your loved ones and especially pets, other critters nearby, too. They need you at this time of year.

Trust in the Plan. And I don’t mean the Qtard one.

How is that working out for ya’ll by the way? Sealed indictments opened yet? Mass paedophilia arrests? America great again, yet?

Trump the saviour avatar?

Ehhh, not really.

Be more careful what you read and follow next time.

And if you were a Qfan and are still sane: please read about how cults work. Start with Jim Jones or the Moonies. Pentacostals, too.

Scary stuff. I assure you.

And thanks again, Mr Man. My cats– each and every one of ’em– say a bigggg hi!

Stay safe,
U.

And again from the original poster, Mr. DSKlausler…

In reply to congjing yu.Thanks for that… and I DO read everything you publish.

It just doesn’t seem right… can’t the simple folks just be left alone to live and grow at their own pace without a bunch of twits ruining the world?

I will give the affirmation deal another go.

Just switch me to the world line where people aren’t so stupid.

Let’s look at the situation

The world seems to be going to Hell. The “news”, the media, the people in Charge and everyone around you are seemingly idiots. “What is their malfunction”, you ask. And you are in fear for your life, your livelihood, and your family. Not to mention your community and your nation.

It doesn’t matter what side of the American Political Spectrum you reside on, everything is seemingly going to Hell straight away. You yearn for stability, a return to quieter and more peaceful times, and management by reason and reasonable people. And when you read the “news” it only amplifies your concerns…

That last link reflects the concerns of many, many Americans (and perhaps many people around the world). “Give me something. Give me hope. Give me Xanax.” Seemingly the population is ready for change…

…and this is a dangerous time. Eh?

Because Change is always uncomfortable, and can usher is a wonderful life, or an indescribably worse on. As we used to say in the United States “jump from the frying pan into the fire”.

To quote from the article;

Can’t quite put my finger on why. Oh yes, I just flipped on ‘MSDNC’ and opened my Failing New York Times, and now I remember: because I’ve been watching my country set ablaze, and Donald Trump and his faithful Trumpsters are holding the flamethrower.

By now, we’ve all sat rapt and horrified, watching the highlights: the MAGA-bots following the Dear Leader’s call to riot, invading the Capitol building, smashing windows, battering down doors, stealing the Speaker’s lectern and literally covering the floors in shit, for fans of too-on-the-nose metaphors. They accosted police, threatened to hang the traitor Mike Pence and trotted through the legislative chamber in full tactical gear holding flex cuffs in the hope of taking hostages. (Possibly before executing them: someone did erect a gallows on the grounds.) Five people died. Four of them Trump supporters, one of them a Capitol Police officer, hit in the head with a fire extinguisher.

I doubt Mr Trump wanted anybody to die. He just wanted to put a good scare into Congress, while trying to overturn a free and fair election, the very bedrock without which the whole system collapses. So nothing to see here, folks. Let’s talk about what really matters, Trump getting banned from Twitter!

If you haven’t gathered by now, I’ve had it. Plenty of us have always been Trump skeptical; my skepticism dates all the way back to 1999. But it’s time for his acolytes to reckon with the cancer that they’ve let metastasize. I haven’t been terribly subtle, so let’s just go ahead and lay it out: Donald Trump is a sociopathic cult leader, a moral black hole with a weird tan and a combover. Yes, I know it’s old hat to make fun of his hair, but his confidantes have told me it wounds him. And I just want him to hurt like he’s hurt America.

So now that we’re coming to the conclusion of DJT’s first and only term — which has ended in impeachment and could include imprisonment — it’s time to legacy-assess the effects of Trumpism. As several have already noted, after everything from Trump’s social-media meltdowns to him falling asleep at the wheel during the deadliest pandemic in a century, Americans are now poorer, angrier, dumber, meaner, more divided, sicker (both physically and mentally) and deader than they were four years ago. But how ’bout that wall?! (The one that’s one-fourth of the way built, that Mexico didn’t pay for.)

I wasn’t a big fan of The Establishment, either. But we threw them over for this?

I don’t detest Trumpsters: that would leave me hating roughly 60 percent of my friends and 80 percent of my family. But I would like to know how so many good people of my acquaintance could be so blind to the glaringly obvious. You edit American Greatness, one of the house organs of the movement. But by my lights, America isn’t looking so great right now. Feels more like American Mediocrity. Or America Needs Improvement. Lots of it. Give me something. Give me hope. Give me Xanax. Give me shelter from the storm. Or I might do something truly unthinkable, like quote Dylan lyrics in print. Nobody wants to see that.

Ah…

Pointing a nice big finger on a figurehead. Ah. It’s all Trump’s fault, and it’s his followers fault…

No it’s not.

It’s the way that governments crumble. They start young and youthful, they go through a “middle age”, they get old, and senile, and then they die. We are watching America die, and no singular person is at fault. So stop blaming the person at the helm. A doomed ship is going to hit that iceberg, and while the captain might be able to steer the ship somewhat, if he doesn’t hit THAT particular iceberg, he will hit the next one instead, or the one after that. A doomed ship is a doomed ship.

And this fact is recognizable. From Chris Buskirk

The one thing I’ve noticed over the past five years is that the only people more consumed by the person of Donald Trump — from his psychology to his physiognomy — than the most diehard, plan-trusting, steal-stopping, Trump super-fans are his obsessive detractors. However large the number of actual Trump cultists is, the anti-Trump cult is orders of magnitude larger, more intense and more powerful. That’s not surprising, because Trump’s rise to power is less a direct threat to the established order and the ruling class it serves than it is an indictment of their failure. Of course they react with visceral hatred. Perhaps we can stipulate that a country with a healthy culture and competent, trusted (and trustworthy) institutions would not have elected Donald Trump as president. Yet, Donald Trump has received more votes than any other Republican ever. Twice.

That suggests two possibilities. Either half the country is comprised of Deplorables, reprobates, morons or sociopaths (I’d love to see the Venn Diagram). Or something has gone quite wrong and America isn’t working very well for a lot of Americans.

Option one is the default answer of the ruling class and its aspirants and retainers. But in fact something has gone wrong. Late-stage liberalism isn’t able to keep its promises. That’s why both Trump and Bernie Sanders were so popular. That’s why there is so much social and political conflict. And Trump-obsession of any kind is a distraction and a coping mechanism.

Over the past 50 years median real wages have barely budged. Worse, the growth that has occurred has all happened at the top. The top 10 percent did OK, the top 1 percent did very well and the top 0.1 percent blasted way ahead of everyone else. Everyone except the very top fell a little behind the group ahead of them, but the group below the top 10 percent fell further and faster. This made it harder to get married, buy a house and raise a family. The cost of being middle class kept rising faster than middle class wages. That created — and continues to create — a lot of people who are socially and economically precarious.

You say ‘I wasn’t a big fan of The Establishment, either. But we threw them over for this?’ Yes. Why? Because there wasn’t a better option. Look at the group of Republicans running in 2016 and Democrats in 2020. All of them are standard-bearers for a shattered consensus. And there are a lot of mediocrities and has-beens. Biden himself is a retread of a retread. The ‘uniparty’ that runs the country either doesn’t know or doesn’t care that for a lot of people the American Dream is dead. In the cohort of people born in 1940, about 95 percent did better economically than their parents. For the cohort born in 1980 (border line millennials), only about 40 percent of those raised in middle-class families are better off than their parents at the same stage of life. These are people who were raised mostly by boomer parents to follow the program that worked so well for them: go to college, maybe grad school, trust the plan and you’ll have a life filled with grilling and long weekends. But it hasn’t worked out that way. It’s been tough. And for those that didn’t go to college, it’s even worse.

What do we do about it? That’s a big subject. But Trump offered answers in 2016 that made some intuitive sense and resonated with a lot of people. We sent our factories and their high-paying jobs to China? Let’s bring them back. Mass immigration undercuts wages? Let’s slow it down. The ruling class is corrupt, self-serving and doesn’t give a damn about anyone else? Let’s take the country back from them.

Trump accomplished some of the good things he was talking about back then, though not as many as I would have liked. But he was often stymied by a combination of internal incoherence and external opposition. In 2017, Trump had both unified government and the most political capital to spend. The fact that the Republican party’s primary goal and signature achievement was a reduction in corporate tax rates says something about the depth of institutional decay that Trump had taken advantage of when he sought the nomination.

Yes. There’s all sorts of things wrong with America right now. It’s a fucking mess. It really is. And the people want out of this mess. And the people in control aren’t really up to taking on that job. They really aren’t.

The uniparty is in control and they are not what the nation needs. It needs leadership, understanding, and merit-based managers who know how systems work and how to clean out the entire clogged up and gutted system.

I'm going to use a Chinese reference, that most Americans are unaware of...

America needs a Mr. Deng-style revolution.

In the 1980's Mr. Deng single-handedly implemented American-style Reaganomics to China. He got rid of hard-core Marxism. He tossed much of the state-mandated industries and implemented private controls. He built cities, disposed political corruptions and changed China from a hard-core Marxist Communist nation to something else.

He changed it to a single-party, traditional values, merit-based system that serves the people, and that is policed by harsh systems to makes sure that the ruling class does not move away from these values.

Ok. Let’s not get too bogged down here.

China changed, and it was hard-core Marxist. America too can change. In fact, if America is what everyone says it is, whether a “democracy” or a “republic”, it should be rather easy to change. But it’s not. You know it. I know it. And it has corrupted well past the point of band-aides and minor surgery. One half of the nation wants to burn it down, and the other half wants to restructure it into something really different.

And thus the fear.

Elements on both the LEFT and the RIGHT are scaring the living daylights out of everyone. And those in charge of the United States government today are not reassuring anyone.

Thus the feeling of helplessness.

Proactive actions

But, if you read the MM writings you realize that your reality is not what it appears to be.

We “share” an apparent reality, but we are not part of what we observe.

We are consciousness. And we are moving world-line to world-line based on our thoughts. And it is important that we NOT get too hung up on what we observe around us. For that too will alter our thoughts. What we are observing is the world-line template. Not our individual world-line.

Do not get too caught up about that looming iceberg ahead of you. Navigate round it. And then when you see another iceberg behind it, navigate around it as well. In fact, maybe you all need to start sailing South as fast as you can to get out of the looming ice pack that is up ahead. You see the warning signs, start the navigation.

Make sure that you have lookouts posted everywhere and that they are rested and alert. Make sure that the engineers and the folk loading coal into the furnaces are up to the job and in control. Make sure that you go to the map room and navigate a path out of the ice floes. Make sure that you radio your concerns and telegraph your direction changes.

Take proactive steps.

You have control

In my real world example that I gave at the top of the post, I referenced my personal affirmation campaign that I implemented back at the start of the year when the COVID-19 outbreak hit.

Up until that time, I kept on believing that Trump wanted to work with China on trade for the mutual benefit of all. I intentionally ignored the hard facts, the neocons in his administrations and his other actions. I wanted to believe. I really wanted to believe. I wanted what I hoped to happen to actually happen and I ignored the facts.

But when people all around me started having seizures, my family became locked inside the house, and the Chinese military went DEFCON ONE, I no longer could live the lie. Donald Trump declared full-spectrum war against China and I was sitting smack dab on the bullseye at ground zero.

Ground zero.

And all the neocon publications were talking about how the USA was going to win a “hot war” against China and invade the South China Sea…

…my home.

I had to do something.

Affirmation Prayer Campaigns

Normally my prayer affirmations are associated with myself. I rarely refer to others and certainly not to Geo-political, or national politics. Those things are like oil and water in regards to my affirmations. I just don’t put affirmations where a preferential presidential candidate wins over another. Instead, my affirmations are about me.

But this WAS about me.

It Was about my FAMILY, and my FRIENDS.

And unlike most Americans, this was not some faraway place that lies at the other end of the world. It is up front and close sitting smack dab in my front yard. i had to so something.

And it seemed like an up-hill battle.

The Fire Hose of Disinformation

Donald Trump and Mike Pompeo turned on the “fire hose of disinformation” against China and it was ridiculous. China could have saved a baby from a burning building and the “news” would report that the Chinese were burning babies.

Anyways, after a full year of this, most Americans consider China evil and are willing and ready to go to war for all the same old reasons and excuses.

330 million people.

And I am but one lone singular person.

What can I do?

You run a Affirmation / Prayer Campaign and you address your fears. You do it to the exclusion of everything else. That’s what you do.

And that is what I did.

My Prayer Affirmation Campaign

Well, I did indeed include personal things, and it was a long slug-fest, I’ll tell you what. But it did work. When I started the campaign, Trump was at the top of his game. He successfully launched numerous events, wars and attacks upon China. six biological weapons designed to destroy crops and livestock. Some with drones carrying vials of toxic bio-weapons to far distant farms. A “color revolution” in Hong Kong, and insurgents flowing into Xinjiang to create another Syria war there. Not to mention the COVID-19B which targeted MYSELF AND MY FAMILY.

Fuck him!

So I launched my own prayer campaign. So if he wanted to be “top dog”, let’s see who’s boss, eh?

At the time I began, everything was pro-Trump and his plans were working out more or less. He was on the verge of creating strife, conflict, starvation, a bio-weapon war, and a future of decades of warfare on the other end of the globe.

So, here’s my relevant affirmations.

While he tried to implement policies that would harm me and my family personally, my affirmation campaign was not personal. It was defensive and proactive. He and his minions will be unable to harm me, my family, my friends or China. If he tried, it would all come back to hit him.

Some quick terms on how the MWI operates.

And what?

With 330 million people seething at rage at China, and all those thoughts, anger and emotion, it was my affirmation campaign that turned things around. At least in my neck of the woods, things have become quite the opposite of what was intended.

The point here is that I was able to stop a war in China. And, by extension, world war III … nuclear war on American soil.

One person has the power to change their life. That is you. Do your prayer affirmation campaign religiously. You, it’s up to you, to make the world surrounding you a better place to live. Do not let the “world-line template” alter the fears you generate while in a world-line that lies upon that template.

If you are filled with dread or fear, that can act as a “signpost” to push you to action. You need to hop onto your affirmation campaigns STAT! and perform corrective measures. Concentrate on your personal life, our family and friends. Do not… DO NOT… put anything that you read about in the “news” in your affirmations. That’s alike a dog chasing it’s tail. You’ll go around and around in circles . You will go no where. Focus on you and your family.

.

What ever you do, run your campaign on a PERSONAL note.

Do not implement things that you read about in the “news”, or your favorite political leanings or anything like that. Those are distractions and they WILL take away from your core desires as specified within your affirmation campaign.

Trust me on this.

The ONLY reason why I included Mr. Trump in my affirmations was because he had targeted me with his war machine. Other than that, he was no where to be seen anywhere in my campaigns.

But how does it work?

The world that you observe is not real. What you are observing is the highest likely probability at any given moment on a world-line.

You are viewing the “world-line template surface”.

You are not viewing your particular, individual, world-line.

  • That shrub over there looks that way because that is the highest probability of it’s appearance at that moment of time…

…as VIEWED by your consciousness within that particular world-line.

  • That person over there is stopping to tie their shoe because that is that highest probability of occurrence at that moment in time…

…as VIEWED by your consciousness within that particular world-line.

  • The President on television is making a speech raising taxes because that is the highest probability of occurrence at that moment of time…

…as VIEWED by your consciousness within that particular world-line.

You CANNOT change them.

All you can change is your navigation to other world-lines.

So do not worry about what the world-line template looks like, or appears to be. That is, unless there is a guy lunging at you with a knife or some other dangerous event. And that is a special event, just like I am describing herein.

What I did…

I conducted a slide.

I slid the world-line, and carried a lot of people with me, to a new world-line template where I am, and my family, are safe. It is a world-line that avoids a Trump / Pompeo created nuclear war, and one where the human species can continue to develop their individual sentience’s while avoiding some truly horrific consequences.

No. I’m not perfect.

Trump did launch the COVID-19 bio-weapons genie and it is out of the bottle. The Chinese stopped the two successive subsequent follow-up bio-weapons attacks (more on them later), but we all still will need to deal with this mess that he got us all involved in.

I’m good. But, I’m not God.

Conclusions

At a time when an entire nation of 330 million people were ready to go to war with China, and attack my front yard, I adjusted my affirmation campaign for a different result.

I was successful.

And all the thoughts of 330 million people had zero effect on my life.

Frankly obnoxious headlines like “Trump wasn’t wrong about China. But here’s how Biden can do a better job” and “Biden must not fall into China’s smooth relations trap” suggest that Washington’s political class is single-minded: maintain an aggressive, hostile stance toward China.

Trump was wrong about China. In 2016, as a presidential contender and he launched a rhetorical tirade against China accusing that country of “raping” the U.S. economy. In 2018, he added that in addition to rape, it had caused the opioid crisis. These accusations depended on racist stereotypes about China and worked to hide the ineptness of the profit-driven U.S. health system and poor innovation record of the economy.

Trump launched his racist hysteria against China in 2018 with deceitful claims about opioids,  trade, technology, and continued in 2020 with demonstrably false allegations about COVID-19’s origins. (Notably, recent media accounts, including the U.K.-based Independent and the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post, have reported that COVID-19 cases appeared in Europe far earlier than initially believed.) Trump’s racially-driven rhetoric exposed the U.S. ruling class’s deepening leadership incapacity in a crisis and its frightening inability to offer and implement rational solutions to complex problems.

.

[1] Donald trump will not be able to hurt or harm China.

Happened. Donald Trump’s anti-China policies were a complete failure. Oh, it’s much worse than that. It was a “train wreck”. The USA ended up getting harmed in so many ways. From domestically, to internationally, to scientifically, to socially. The United States has paid the price for these actions.

It’s not that I wanted to hurt the USA, but I just didn’t want myself or my family to die. And that meant that I had to take on the President and his well-paid army of war-mongering neocons with a lust for war, and desire to kill. I was successful. The complete and utter failure of the Trump policies against China were astounding and will be recorded in the history books as something that you want to avoid at all costs.

[2] All American military ventures against China will fail.

This anti-China line of thought provides no real insight into Trump’s demented psychology or the validity of the establishment’s China views. Instead, it only further exposes the persistent void in policy ideas on economic development and the ruling class’s helplessness in leading innovation. Blaming China replaces reasonable interrogation of this failure of economic and social innovation.

One egregious example of the general incapacity for efficient leadership can be seen in the bloated military sector. According to a Government Accounting Office report published this month, of “46 types of aircraft [examined by inspectors] … only three met their annual mission capable goals in a majority of the years for fiscal years 2011 through 2019.” Less than 3% of military aircraft types are consistently service-ready, in other words. Meanwhile, the military budget approaches $800 billion annually.

Massive waste that ties government contracts to political donations (to both major parties), reflects the failure across all sectors to produce sustainability, innovative technology, and necessary infrastructure for a high-level quality of life. If comparisons to the 1970s are permissible, the U.S. is approaching levels of stagnation that required the ruling class to craft neoliberalism as a class strategy for renewing its power and restoring capital accumulation. This time, neoliberalism is in crisis.

And fail they did. From HK, to Xinjigng, to Taiwan, to the South China Sea. They all failed, and failed spectacularly. You can go one by one, but there are no successes in any of them; not one.

It was hardly a secret throughout the Trump administration. Now, dying embers within sight, and with minimum fanfare, comes the declassification – virtually the whole document, minus a few redactions – of the US Strategic Framework for the Indo-Pacific.

Why now, no less than 30 years before the usual, standard US declassification/public record protocols apply? Don’t expect an answer from Trump or from his National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien.

[3] The harder Donald Trump tries to take on China and hurt it, the effects will boomerang back to hurt Trump and his family personally.

And isn’t that what is happening? Isn’t his family and him personally getting “hits” by the American public and legal system?

[4] Any WMD’s implemented by America to hurt China will boomerang to the USA a hundred-fold and more

Evidence for this botched leadership can be seen in the incapacity to adequately meet the COVID-19 danger. The U.S. government proved unable to deliver necessary medical equipment or to define a scientifically-sound national public health policy. It wasted time and resources and still seems incapable of controlling a contagion that has cost more than 263,000 lives.

And look at how America is handling the COVID-19 coronavirus issue, eh? This singular issue is toppling the entire nation, and government alone. It’s more than just mismanagement, it’s a fiasco of historic proportions.

In fact, this mishandling (whether it is a bio-weapon or a pandemic) will go down in the history books as a massive blunder and mistakes and Trump and his administration will be labeled as clowns and buffoons for all of eternity as a result.

The bottom line is this.

You can control the events that affect your personal life and the lives of your family. You just need to control your personal affirmations. You cannot control the entire nations, you are not MM. But you have the ability to control that realm that you inhabit. So do NOT get all hung up and hot and bothered with what you read in the “news”. It’s nonsense. Concentrate on you and your family.

And keep in mind, that here, yes I Mr. MM himself, have you all in my affirmation prayers. I’m watching your backs. So don’t get too fearful.

It’s all good.

Keep in mind that what you think might be bad, if you read the “news” might end up being the best thing that could ever happen to you and your family. So do not let the “news” affect you. Again… for the third time… concentrate on you and your family. Concentrate on happiness and safety. You will be fine.

I love this story:

"One evening, my mother made dinner after she had completed a hard day's work.

She put a plate of eggs, salad and burnt toast in front of my father and me.

I immediately noticed.

The burnt toast and I were waiting to see if my father was going to complain about it.

But he started to eat everything.

Then smiling, he asked me how was my day at school.

My mum apologized to my father for the burnt toast.

I will never forget his response to her:

'Honey, I love burnt toast!'

Later, when I went to bed and my father came over to kiss me goodnight, I asked him if he really liked the burnt toast.

He hugged me and said,

'Your mother has had a difficult and hard day and she is really tired. She went out of her way to prepare the meal for us. Why blame her and hurt her!

Burnt toast never hurt anyone; but words can be very painful!'

We have to know how to appreciate what others do for us, even if it's not perfect, because it's the intention to do well that counts, and no one is perfect."

Lately, where I live and teach (Chicago), the answer to this has been “meaningful consequences.”

I’ve seen this play out several times in the last ten years. I teach at a private K-8 school and, every year, we have a handful of students transfer in from public schools in the grades that I teach (6–8). Most of these students are behaviorally great and academically just a little behind their peers, but some of them have struggles with both of those things. And they (and their parents) sometimes seem completely caught off guard when there are real, meaningful consequences for their actions or inactions.

The local public schools here have policies like “restorative justice” or “grading for equity,” where meaningful consequences of misbehaviors or missing or incomplete work or simply failing assignments are nonexistent. The policies include things like “no grade below a 50%,” even if the student didn’t turn in the assignment, or “no penalties for late work,” coupled with “teachers must accept late work until the final day of the semester.” They also have policies like “no suspending students for any reason short of student safety” and “no student gets held back a grade, ever,” and “homework cannot be included in a student’s grade, because not all students have good home environments for doing homework,” or “students cannot be prohibited from participating in sports for academic reasons,” etc…

Basically, the public schools here in Chicago have thrown in the towel on most real, meaningful consequences for students. The private schools have not.

It makes for tense parent/student/teacher/administration conferences when, at the end of their first semester at our school, we have to tell a student and their parents that, if their student’s grades don’t improve, they will be asked to repeat the grade, or asked to find a different school to better suit their needs. This only happens when students are failing due to not doing their assignments. No student who actually does all of their work and puts a little effort into it fails. But some students simply refuse to put any effort into their work, then are genuinely shocked to learn that they won’t just be passed along, like they were at their previous, public school.

If you read any teacher forum online these days, complaints about a lack of meaningful consequences for students are common. Lots of variations of “I sent a student to the office as a punishment, and they came back ten minutes later with a lollipop and a smile on their face,” or, “students who did nothing in my class all year, including not even showing up half of the time, still graduated; it’s no surprise that the students simply don’t care, when there is no incentive for them to care.”

A few years ago, there was a video of a judge sentencing a teen to life in prison for murder. The teen murdered his own sibling, if I recall correctly. During the trial, it became obvious that the teen had had multiple behavioral issues at home and school, but was always given a pass for them. The judge actually apologized to the teen after reading the sentence, saying something to the effect of: “I’m sorry that you made it this far in life without understanding consequences; your parents and your school failed to teach you that actions have consequences, and now your first real consequence is a life sentence.

What’s happening in public schools, when it comes to consequences, is similar to what’s happening in the adult world in more liberal places, like Chicago. It’s how you end up with stories like this: Man was arrested 72 times before setting fire to woman on CTA train.

Meaningful consequences are important for children. It’s actually cruel to children to let them make it to adulthood without them. It’s detrimental to the rest of society as well.

Predator Teacher Shows Up at Minor’s Home, Meets Police

Let me introduce you to a super-cool, less known invention from 400 BC.

The Pythagoras Cup!

The story goes like this. Pythagoras, who is famous for his work on right angled triangles, used to serve wine to his students in this cup. This cup used to ensure that all of them get the same amount of wine and if somebody was greedy and tried to fill more wine in the cup, that student used to get his comeuppance and all the wine from his cup used to fall from the bottom of the cup. Amazing, isn’t it?

This is how it works.

The cup looks something like this. A rod sort of thing protrudes from the base of the cup which is supposed to give the height till which the cup should be filled but it serves a greater purpose as we’ll see.

The cross section of the cup looks something like this.

So, when the level of wine is below the topmost point of the rod, your wine is safe. But as soon as the level of wine crosses the topmost point of the rod, this happens.

Why this happens! It follows from a very simple proof using Bernoulli theorem. You can correlate it with daily life situations in which the water keeps flowing through the pipe if the exit point is lower than the entrance point once the channel is established even though it has to go up once to follow through the channel.

Simple yet epic! 🙂

Science Fiction Drama Adventure

Chapter 1: Friend

Underneath a violet sun, on a hilltop, sat a man. He wasn’t watching the swelling sun descend, or the secondary reflection of the sun for that matter. Nor was he looking out over the field of trees or the forests of grasses beyond. He was far too tired of all the strange phenomena that plagued the Earth these days. No, he was unconcerned with it all, and instead busied himself with the tinkering of something in his glove.

There was a time when he still found parts of the world around him beautiful despite its seismic shift from before. But at some point, acknowledging these differences only reminded him of his overwhelmingly bleak reality. The nuclear fallout seemed to have affected everything—everything except for him. How was he the only person lucky enough to survive? The man let out a slight chuckle. If he had learned anything these past few years, this wasn’t called luck; it is called a curse. A curse that, as of recently, filled his days with only hopelessness and sorrow.

The man shook his head, hoping to dispel his spiraling thoughts. He glanced down at his homemade compass, squinting to read the needle in the fading light. For whatever reason, it was reading that North was East and South was West. It had been all over the place in accuracy ever since he assembled it. He suspected that the needle was being hindered from a frictionless swivel, so he took it off to examine the axle. A slight buzzing sound filled the air beside him. The man spoke to it.

“Jig, give me a light, will you?”

The drone obeyed, casting a glow on the dismantled pieces. The man leaned forward in focus, his bulky radiation suit scrunching around him.

A wind swept up from the field below, tossing the knee-high trees. The man jolted, trying to steady the fragile contraption. Yet it was to no avail, and the pieces fell apart in his glove.

“Blasted wind,” mumbled the man. His gloves were shaking with frustration.

“Reminder for Adam: Please head back to the settlement. Nighttime is no longer hospitable for humans.”

“Human, singular,” Adam corrected. “And I’ll be heading back soon. I’m just trying to figure this out.”

“Reminder for Adam: This compass isn’t necessary as you never need to be far enough away from your settlement to use it.”

Adam didn’t respond. Not all of Jig’s “reminders” were helpful. After a few minutes, Adam pushed himself to his feet and stuck the reconstructed compass back in his pocket. Jig was right—this compass didn’t matter, same as everything else. For a moment, he looked upward toward the budding night sky. But he only saw past the stars into the encompassing darkness. It felt like it was pervading all things.

“Reminder for Adam: Watch your step here.” Jig was a few feet in front of him, pointing his light at a boulder.

Adam turned his attention to Jig, then started walking along the crest of the hill, back toward the settlement.

After a few paces, he came to a sheer cliff on one side, over which the coming darkness made it look like a never-ending drop. Adam stopped. So much darkness. He felt it inside himself. His breathing intensified. Pebbles crunched under his feet as he turned and stepped closer to the edge. And then he stepped closer still. The air was free, playing before him in the open expanse. Could it make him free? He was breathing even harder. He took another step forward. The tips of his boots were hanging over the side. He felt sharp drafts tugging at him, inviting him to the void. Then a familiar buzzing approached, and he felt Jig’s little metal pincers yank him back. Adam took a few backward steps to catch his balance.

Jig nervously fumbled with his pincers. “Reminder for Adam: You wouldn’t survive that fall.”

“Who else cares anyhow?” snapped Adam, exposing his thoughts. For a few moments, only the wind could be heard as it carved along the surroundings.

“Well, I do,” came the soft metallic voice of Jig.

Adam felt bad. They continued toward home in silence.

As they passed a stream less than a mile away from the settlement, Jig tried to make conversation with Adam. “What direction does your compass read now?”

Adam reached back into his pocket. Jig concentrated his light on the compass face. At first, the needle swung around, calibrating to the magnetic fields. But then, the needle jumped. Adam furrowed his brow. Never had his needle jumped before. The needle jumped again. Adam noticed with this second time a simultaneous vibration came from the ground, and then another—almost a clomping.

“WATCH OUT!” Jig broadcasted loudly.

Adam looked up just in time to see some shadowy silhouette crash into him. The collision made a deep smacking sound as several structural components in Adam’s suit gave way. He tumbled back on the ground. The little trees snapped underneath. Before he could get up, the animal was on him again. He felt a crushing force on his ankle as it bit down.

“AHHH!” Adam screamed through raw pain. The glint of a darkened eye turned his way in realization that the sound came from the head on the other side of the prey. It clawed up his body to get to it, reducing the chest area of his suit to tatters. A hissing noise filled the air as oxygen and pressure leaked out. A momentary thought passed through Adam’s mind as the animal’s jaws opened.

So this is how it ends. Humanity made extinct by nature. We are but a plaything for irony.

A sudden burst of loud bangs erupted in the air right above. Jig had set off a string of flares. The creature on top of Adam was suddenly illuminated in a sinister red light. It had the face of a lion, but long slits on its neck, almost gill-like. In response to the noise, the creature’s ears flattened, and it retreated off Adam’s contorted frame. The flares continued. With one final look, the creature turned away and slipped into the nearby stream. The surface of the water returned again to its smooth torsional flow as if nothing happened. The quiet of the night resumed, other than Adam’s ragged breathing and Jig’s buzzing.

“Lay still,” Jig said, an unusual element of command in his tone. A scanning light engulfed Adam. “I’m detecting a broken ankle and a serious laceration along your torso. You’re losing blood at a high rate. The good news is your helmet’s emergency seal is holding, and we are close to the settlement. I just need my supplies to render emergency aid, but you’ll recover quickly.”

Between heavy breaths, Adam let out a short laugh. “Good thinking with the flares, Jig.”

“I’m much lighter without those 27 flares anyhow,” replied Jig, giving an attempt at a joke.

“It’s crazy how much the radiation has affected the animals. Since when are lions aquatic?” Adam winced. The pain started kicking in, and with it, his existential dread.

“Come on, Adam,” Jig said, trying to rouse his master.

Adam didn’t stir. “Jig, I’ve been thinking.”

“No time for thinking right now,” Jig interrupted.

Adam suddenly convulsed into a bout of coughing, each exhale bloodier than the last. “Let me finish. I’ve been thinking, and there doesn’t seem to be much of a point for me anymore.”

“Point for what?”

“Of continuing, especially if there is nobody else—nobody to come after. Hell, I can’t even remember any personal details of my life before the nukes detonated.”

“Sir, we’ve been over this. For whatever reason, you’ve survived the nuclear war on Earth. And somehow, someone knew that would happen and so they left instructions and materials on building a settlement.”

“Yeah, yeah… and I’m incredibly lucky because in my past life… whatever it was, I worked in construction, so the one thing I can do is build,” Adam continued in almost a mocking tone, reciting from memory. “And maybe one day I’ll find other survivors and we can rebuild humanity from my little settlement… Well, where are they, Jig? Huh?”

“Sir…”

“There are no other survivors!” Adam shouted at Jig. This outburst caused him to be racked by more violent coughs. “I’m done. I give up.”

For the first time, Jig didn’t respond. Adam slightly turned his head to look at the drone. Then, something strange happened. Jig’s rotors spasmed, and his light flickered. Finally, the drone stabilized. “You are not alone. There are other [redacted] in [redacted].”

With great effort, Adam lifted his head up. “What… who?”

“You are part of [redacted] protocol. With the goal of [redacted].”

I bet his processors got dust in them again, thought Adam. Although, he had never seen this kind of malfunction.

“Jig,” Adam sputtered, feeling even weaker. “Why are you saying ‘redacted’? Tell me what you know—” he coughed, “—right now.”

“I can’t. It seems that my base coding is overriding some words.”

“Your base code is to protect me.”

“It seems that is only part of it.”

“But…” Adam took a sharp breath in, pausing his thought. His rapidly deteriorating state was becoming overly apparent. The duty of servicing Jig, mixed with a sliver of curiosity that something else might be happening, caused Adam to put off giving up, at least for now. He slowly rose to his feet. “Let’s get us both repaired, Jig.” He took one half-step forward, nearly falling in a painful hobble over his broken ankle. He felt a slight pinching on his shoulder followed by intensified buzzing. Jig was trying to lessen Adam’s weight. Through the darkness, they slowly maneuvered, until they arrived before the hulking outline of the settlement. The pressure doors unsealed, and for the first time in a while, Adam felt happy to be back.

Chapter 2: Poison

Jig helped Adam to the medical table. He collapsed onto it, surprised by how little strength he now had. Jig wheeled around, collecting various implements. Adam heard containers being knocked over, cabinets slamming shut. This was unusual for Jig. He was acting frantic.

“Jig, you and I both know—” Adam’s words were cut off as a coughing fit overtook him. After regaining his composure, he continued, “That you’ll patch me up, no problem. You’ll smear that miracle salve on me, work your other medic magic, and I’ll be good as new. No need to panic.”

For whatever reason, Jig continued rushing about. After a few minutes, the drone set down the last supply next to Adam on the table and then picked up the scissors. “Reminder for Adam: We need to first remove your suit.”

Adam tried to speak, but his voice came out as a hoarse whisper. “No way am I trusting you to repair me if your processors are down.”

“Fine.” Jig angled around and opened a compartment in his back.

Adam took out the processor card for examination. Surprisingly, it looked relatively clean. He blew on it for good measure and then placed it back inside.

For the next half-hour, Jig worked meticulously to heal Adam’s many wounds. He was injected, sewn, set, and smeared, amongst a dozen other emergency measures. Eventually, Jig backed away, signaling the end of his work. He scanned Adam again.

“Patient has been stabilized. Blood volume is leveling out, and the ankle has been induced with healing accelera—” Jig paused. Then, once again, his system fritzed, almost causing the drone to crash into a nearby cabinet.

So whatever part is malfunctioning, it isn’t his processor, thought Adam.

The drone regained control as though nothing had happened. Adam looked on with concern. Jig idled back over to the medical supplies. This time, he mixed several chemicals together and loaded the concoction into a massive syringe.

“There is one more procedure,” said Jig.

Adam, nervous after witnessing yet another glitchy episode, looked at the needle. “Jig… what is in that?”

“This is a polycarbonate state of neiphiram. It will stop your heart, which is necessary for [redacted].”

Adam leaned away, feeling some of his strength returning. “But stopping my heart would kill me.”

“This is what you want, Adam. It will [redacted]. Trust me.”

“Jig, what was it we humans blamed the nuclear war on again?” Adam asked, partly joking, partly serious.

“It was robots—mostly the ones with an L3 threshold of intelligence or higher.”

“And what are you?”

“Your inference of me going rogue is wrongly placed, Adam. Stopping your heart is necessary to achieve [redacted] [redacted].” Jig inched closer. “Please hold still, Adam.”

“No! I don’t want that!” Adam trailed off, “Anymore.” He hung his head thinking that concluded the matter.

“This is the only way we get what you want.” Jig’s front rotors lowered, thrusting him closer.

Adam snapped his head up seeing Jig approach. Instinctively, he pushed off the medical table, Adam’s one good leg shaky but holding. “I realized I don’t want to end—I just don’t want to be alone.” Panic was building in his voice.

Jig pursued. “That is what I’m doing. The [redacted] will give you what we want.” Jig lunged forward, needle gleaming.

Adam dodged, but the quick movement sent him sprawling toward the far wall.

“Jig, I command you to override this action.”

“I can’t, Adam. This is the only way my base code will agree.”

“This isn’t what I want! It’s what you want!”

Jig paused for a moment, looking at Adam. “I only want what you want.” Then he lunged one final time.

Defenseless, Adam grabbed a heavy container of food next to him and swung. It was too late. The needle impaled his skin, emptying its contents. The container did stay true to its course. As Adam’s world started spinning in blurs, he heard a few noises. One was the crunch of delicate metal bending and breaking into pieces. The other, somewhere in the distance, was a flatlining beep. His last recollection was the realization that the beep represented him.

Consciousness slipped away.

In the outer atmosphere, thrusters roared to life.

Chapter 3: Hope

Blurs danced in a sliver of light. They began solidifying into ovals and then into faces. Adam shot upright. People. People here, now. With him. Was this a dream?

“He’s alive,” said one of the faces. “Hello, builder, can you hear us?”

One face turned to another. “Still can’t believe this SOB somehow survived the Planetfall Protocol. What should we do with him? He’s supposed to be dead.”

Another face responded, “His physical scan is clean, no biohazards. He poses no threats to the health of our population.”

Adam finally regained enough agency to speak. “Who… who are you? I am… was… the last person on Earth. How?”

“Earth? Earth is no more. It is a wasteland.”

“So then… where are we?”

“This is Planet 3617 on the far side of the Andromeda Galaxy. You were the designated builder. We are the settlers.”

All the incongruities Adam had been harboring in his subconscious finally snapped into place. The radiation suit he needed to wear. The fields of trees. The suns. The odd creature that attacked. Of course, everything seemed different. It was an entirely different planet.

The main face spoke again. “Our monitors showed you flatlined, and that’s what triggered our awakening from cryo-tubes and sequential descent. How are you… alive?”

JIG! thought Adam. He looked over at the pile of mangled pieces that was Jig. “My friend saved me,” he said, the realization dawning on what that meant.

“That’s shocking—those little drones are supposed to keep their lips sealed.”

Jig wasn’t malfunctioning. The Planetfall Protocol code redacted any specific references to itself. He wasn’t trying to kill him. He momentarily stopped Adam’s heart to save him. A tear formed in Adam’s eye. Followed by another, and then the rest of his emotions broke like a dam.

One of the men reached over and placed a hand on Adam’s heaving shoulders. As the tears began subsiding, down a distant hallway, he heard the most beautiful sound: a child laughing. Adam started crying again – this time, though, he cried because someone could bear witness. He cried because Jig did get what he wanted. He cried because he had hope.

“Come on,” said one man, “the settlers will be excited to meet a builder in real life.”

The next morning, and every morning thereafter, Adam looked at the sky and saw the sun for what it was: no longer alone, but joined by another of its kind.

China’s J-36 Fighter Jet Is Scarier Than We Imagined

The Two-Farm Feast

A Tale of Shared Tables, Sunflower Seeds, and the Joy of Belonging—Together

Ah, dear reader—prepare your heart. Today’s story does not begin with a quack, a snort, or even a kazoo blast.
It begins with a clink.
The soft, joyful clink of two teacups meeting—one from the farmhouse, one from the city garden—as hands, worn by different kinds of love, raise them in silent toast.

So settle in. Breathe deep. And step—gently, lovingly, joyfully—into The Two-Farm Feast.

The Table That Stretched Between Worlds

It was the fourth evening—golden, soft, humming with the quiet symphony of dusk.

A long table stretched between the fields—not a boundary, but a bridge—strung with lanterns, daisies, and sprigs of lavender from both gardens.

  • Chef Remy stood at the head, arms wide:

“Behold—‘Noodle Harmony’! Her mother’s broth, my dumplings, and a dash of moonbeam for good measure.”
Steam rose in spirals—fragrant, golden, shared.

  • Jazzpurr led the band:
Bongos (played by Rufus, tail keeping time)
Duck quack (Ferdinand, hitting a perfect C-sharp)
Soft, contented hum (Catnip, eyes half-closed, paws on Martha’s knee)
  • Big Red and Tony the Bear shared a bench—passing honey, telling stories of mud puddles and mountain berries.
  • Li Hua, quiet and smiling, placed a small jade carving at the table’s center:

    “For balance. And for joy.”

(Thank you Zephyr.)

  • Ditto danced—not alone, but with Lillian, with Doris, with even Quack Feng (who tapped one foot, just once, then pretended it was a regulation adjustment).

No speeches.
No fanfare.
Just laughter.
Shared glances.
The deep, quiet hum of enough.

The First Bite That Tasted Like Home

Martha sat beside Catnip—not with him in her lap, but beside her, one paw resting lightly on her knee, the other curled around a bowl of noodles.

He ate slowly—not because he was hesitant, but because he wanted to savor it.
Each bite:
The warmth of broth
The tender give of dumpling
The quiet certainty that he belonged—here, now, with them.

The Farmer sat beside her—shoulder to shoulder, knee to knee—his hand resting over hers on the table.
Not holding.
Anchoring.

Sir Whiskerton watched from the roof—not napping, but witnessing.
His tail flicked—once, slow, sure:

This is it. This is what we’ve been tending.

Even the scarecrow swayed—not creaking, but humming, a low sound like wind through reeds.

The Moral of the Story

That night, as the stars rose and the lanterns glowed like captured fireflies, Sir Whiskerton addressed the animals—not to conclude, but to bless.

“The moral of the story, dear reader, is this:
Home isn’t a fence—it’s a table. And the more chairs you add, the brighter the light becomes.
Martha didn’t bring her farm here to merge. She brought it to meet. To say: My world is wider than I thought. My love, deeper. My belonging—not less, but more.*
So go ahead. Set another place. Pull up a chair. Pass the honey.
The world doesn’t need walls.
It needs tables.
It needs lanterns.
It needs bowls of noodles, shared in silence, that taste like home.”

Doris dabbed her eyes—not with a wing, but with joy.

“A communal metaphor! I can’t bear it!”
“Bear it! Bear it!”

And Catnip?
He curled into Martha’s lap—not hiding, not clinging, but resting—one paw still on her knee, the other tucked under his chin.
The Farmer leaned his shoulder against hers.
Sir Whiskerton, on the roof, began to purr—low, steady, sure.

And the lavender, tucked behind Martha’s ear, caught the lantern light—glowing, golden, alive.

Post-Credit Scene

Later, Ditto found the jade carving—now resting in the center of the empty table.
He placed beside it:
One sunflower seed (from Big Red)
One dried lavender sprig (from Martha’s mother)
One tiny, golden fish flake (from the bowl)

On a scrap of parchment, in careful script:

“The Feast Continues.
Seat always saved.
Bowl always full.”

(Footnote: “—D.D.”)

Outside—the wind hummed.
The stars twinkled.
And somewhere, faint on the breeze—

Clink… purr…* home *… love.

Jingle on. 🌼✨💛
(Or, in farm-ese: Bowl… table… together … forever.)

The End.

Historical Fiction Teens & Young Adult Drama

The world went dark all the power was out people were scared. This was no ordinary black out. Something was really wrong. I sat at home by myself and watched the sky go pitch black. No stars no moon just black. As I peered through the window everything was covered in orange dust. Cars, houses and roads. Like it was falling through the sky. There was no phone service and electrical wires sparked. Was this the end of the world. The rapture. I couldn’t see a soul. I couldn’t hear anything. It was quiet. That was unusual in itself. It was a busy street with university students that would fill all the available car spots. A few days ago, I had the intuition that somewhere something wasn’t right. I’ve seen somethings that I shouldn’t have seen, and my trauma will never leave me.Then came the military with cannons to protect them. I’m still wondering why this was happening. Is World War three going to happen? The natural disaster alarms started to go off. The orange fog was strong. I was ordered to stay inside by the military they went door knocking. The clouds had mustard gas which made the rain toxic. The children that were playing outside where now dead laying on the grass outside their home. Their parents fled they had to let them go or they would die too. When the front light was off you would know they weren’t home, and their car was gone.As soon as the mustard gas hit you, you would go completely blind, and your skin would start to melt. It killed all the animals. It ruined all the crops. I was running low on food and cleaning products. Wondering where my mum and dad were and if they were safe. I lit up my house with candles and lanterns. I put up my black out curtains. It was too late to be evacuated.Police choppers up in the air circling low and AirForce planes beside them. This was an attack. The military had never seen this much mustard gas before. Obviously, their aim was to wipe out the whole country. My biggest fear was the world ending and now it was really happening. As I peered through my black curtains the rain was heavy, tree’s blowing everywhere, branches flying. The dust had covered everything. My windows were orange. Sirens beaming. Creatures dropping from the sky. There is a whole bunch of electrocuted bats on my front lawn. The smell was horrible. If this storm didn’t happen, I would be at work. I am the caretaker of the old cemetery. I clean stones and mow the grass. Currently trying to get the headstones a paint job. I would be there right now at 5:00 am i the morning. I identify myself as a boy. I am 23 years old, and my name is Joseph. I am a skitsophrinic with a bunch of mental health problems I suffer from PTSD and psychosis. My name comes from the bible. I always attended church on Sundays. I wear a black robe and my steel cap boots to freak people out. I also wear black eyeliner and black lipstick. I love my makeup, and no one could ever take that away from me even though I get judged. I wondered if the graves existed or if they melted because of the rain. I am scared that I’ll die alone. The power was still out. It had been five hours since it all had started. Helicopters still circling low. I wondered who such a thing would do to try and wipe out thousands of people. Were people evacuated or were they dead? I hoped to God that my parents were alive. Because I couldn’t live without them.I searched for my radio downstairs I had hacked into the emergency service channel. Things weren’t looking to good. They explained the safety issues. The rain was poison, we have no crops left the rain has ruined everything that we had. GONE! I’m lucky that my house is strong. If it wasn’t it would have turned to dust. The rain turned into hail stones, mustard gas filled hail stones about as big as my hand. They smashed up my car and my neighbor’s belongings.  I was perplexed about what I should do next.I peeped out my blinds and I saw people running. They were now mutated because of the mustard gas. They had arms and legs in the flesh but still trying to run. They almost looked like zombies. But they were just hurt normal people. No doctors. No emergency services because everything had locked down. I wondered if this was happening in other countries. Was I ever going to see my parents again? Or my friends.

Mustard Gas was dropped from the sky again with a really bad effect. The cell towers exploded, and the smoke made the city go dark. Still too late for an evacuation if you went outside, you would instantly die due to the enemy’s nuke bomb. Filled with mustard gas. They dropped it on the main road, and it spread! You could hear people screaming and when it stopped you would know that they were dead or dying. The sky filled with smoke from the explosion. Why aren’t I dead yet considering all the explosions that we had it was now 3pm.

The poison rain suddenly stopped. But the sky was still pitch black because of all the smoke. Ash fell on to the ground and the fire was being put out now containable. There were sirens, police, ambulances treating patients that had flesh opening wounds and blisters. Most people went blind. The children playing outside hit by the gas were severely injured or dead. The hospital power generators turned back on. But there was still no phone service.

I woke up gasping for air, cold sweats, peered out my blinds and the world was normal. It was just a dream.
