One of the problems in the West is that everyone takes one singular issue, and then isolates it. Studies it, and then comes to conclusions from the study of the isolated aspects. Nope. That will bring your erroneous conclusions because everything is interconnected.

If anyone is interested, someone posted a massive PDF of Gurdjieff’s work over at Internet Archive. I can’t say I’ve read any of it, but Archive is a great resource for all kinds of off-center literature.
