at the heart of the subscription economy is neofeudalism. Basically the oligarchs are feudalists and recoil at the thought of people actually “owning” anything, and as a result they’ve designed a subscription-based economy..
examples: they destroyed ethanol fuel back in the 1920s and 30s in favor of oil, because they owned the oil companies. So now you cannot own your own source of fuel, you have to subscribe to their service which is a petroleum based fuel, gasoline.
Prior to this many farmers could produce their own fuel in the form of ethanol from a variety of crops. Now they subscribe to the oil companies
Health care is the same way. Rather than making people healthy vis a vis diet and supplements, we have a medical system that pushes prescription refills instead. Furthermore, rather than using plants that anyone can grow for medicine, they push an isolate/synthesize/sell model of medicine.
There are many such examples, but the key is that it is the oligarchs who push the wasteful (from an energy consumption perspective) and polluting subscription model onto everyone who then turn around and accuse everyone of over-consuming WHILE plotting to kill us all via a depopulation event which they justify on the basis of our over consumption…which THEY cause by pushing the subscription economy of neo feudalism

@johnsmith If I had the patience to write a book - about how SERIOUSLY broken our healthcare system is and how the sale of diagnosis is directly proportional to the amount of stock in physicians 401K’s (thats “RETIREMENT” in America, non-Americans - its ALLLLLLLLLL tied to a stock market made of - literally - ones and zeros in a silicon chip.
YES, it is disproportionate between rich and poor in our Country and believe me I wish I could change it. I can’t. None of us in the West can.
But we CAN learn from those we “stand opposed” from. Me being an American Patriot learning VERY much from a Chinese hosted site and with MORE freedom than I could ever dream of here in America? Personally, it would be un-patriotic NOT to. So, learning how we here in the West have it SO backwards.
We throw away our children THEN we, as adults, throw away our elders, each hoping for and helping as best we could.
But we separate.
This is only an American and European thing - from MY vantage point. I am humble enough to look at others - and I do not know how Australia/NZ is - due to my ignorance. - but the rest of the world works to take care of their elders. The family unit - parents do not need a 401k. In some cultures NOT marrying a daughter off to wealth is a set up (SET UP) for a disastrous future for the parents. And that’s fine - make no mistake - what YOUR culture does - YOUR culture does. I do not want to stick my fingers in your culture and twist them around like America and the West has done for the last 75 or however many years no more than I want yours in mine.
But I will say this - the way the rest of the world keeps family close is phenomenal. How China is making kids stop playing video games for most of the day is a GOOD thing - and if it isn’t true - that’s on the news here - but it’s a good idea! The way the Chinese are building its empire and what they developed into really does resemble America post WW2 - and yeah, I not only know what propaganda is - and the American elite are angry and they NEED an enemy - so the anti-Chinese propaganda is off the charts. We all see it here in America. We are not fools. It’s insanity. All of it. Even the show we just watched.
And it is SO connected to your point @johnsmith, and so easy to miss. It’s unplugging from all the shit subscriptions - the subscriptions we all actually live - and try to retune. Your post is so thought provoking. Why are we ALWAYS looking for an enemy here in the West? You nailed it. All of those subscriptions. We are addicted like moths to light.
As part of frontloading life I'm not saving a single penny for "retirement"... That means no 401k, no other bullshit but sadly Im still forced into the Social Suckerity scam/ponzi scheme...
No one lives forever. Im past halfway (mid 30s) and my perspective is I do not want to live past age 65, so why I need to save for retirement? lol
The human body ages past age 20 on cell level... female decline from peak of 24 in terms of sexual market value then hit wall at 30 and its all rapid downhill from there... for men they peak physically at 30 but career peak at 40s (curious EEOC doesnt even consider age discrimination until after 40 lol) but by 50s both genders are pretty much done with... by 65 its game over
For me, Im not saving for a retirement that I dont want to live to see in a world that wont even be there by then anyway....
American "healthcare" is a fucking scam too... it pads the GDP numbers though lol.... Heck if they paid a bunch of tards 100k salaries to manually dig ditches and a second group to fill the ditches back, it would still add to the GDP numbers even though nothing of value was produced... US healthcare is the FDA and food industry getting people sick so the pharmaceticals and doctors can "manage the illness"
Another 15% of US GDP is imputed rent... basically what would have been charged had a family member not been living together and had to get seperate housing at market prices...
Whats next, legalize prostitution and then add the sex worker industry to GDP calculations as well? lol

I appreciate all the sentiments here. But I do want to tell you all something. My life didn't take off until I was well into my 50's. And it's been a glorious ride ever since.

That is actually good news. I am still in my 40's and life's good. no major complains, apart from usual daily stuff. So heading, knock on wood, into my 50's, and knowing what I know from your (and contributors) teachings, I am very optimistic.
I been using Google Flights search forever and literally they just added this... I guess between perpetual vax cards with neverending 6 months booster requirements and the soon to be individual carbon caps (in at least six US states you cannot buy Dell gaming PC anymore even if you have money because it uses too much power/energy etc and for people who want to build their own PC as you know the gpu prices are still 3X MSRP in the scrapler aftermarket) this will dramatically suppress if not cut down altogether all forms of "non-essential" vacation/tourism travel/flights ... right now the Google carbon nag is 'informational' only but it won't be long before you won't be able to purchase a ticket (even if you have the funds) because you exceeded your carbon cap for the year etc...
Next up: Eating fake vegan meat, and getting booster shots every six month to maintain "green" status on the vax QR card or embedded biochip!

Once they can force the vax card/ QR code / biochip on everyone and then tie that into everyday things, then that infrastructure, privacy invasion, and legal precedent already in place for other things like individual carbon caps!
Obama did the false equivalency thing where he said if you are too dangerous to fly (the No Fly List is arbitrary, and flying was never a Constitutional right etc) then you are also too dangerous to own a gun etc... Now they are saying if you cannot fly (ie you are not vaxxed or your booster is lapsed) then you cannot own a gun, they will tie gun ownership to vax status... same with the carbon cap bs... if you aren't eligible to fly (ie you exceeded your carbon cap for the year because you drove a truck to work instead of carpooling or riding a pruis etc) then you also have to give up your guns etc etc etc
Now replace "gun ownership" with "grocery shopping", "right to be in public places" or use public facilities including roads, highways, etc, the ability to see your kids and not have them taken away by child protective services, etc etc... seeing the picture now?!
